A three-day National Conference of the Federation of Muslim Women’s Associations in Nigeria (FOMWAN) took place at the University of Lagos, Akoka from Thursday, November 3rd to Sunday, November 6th, 2016. The theme of the Conference was: “Development for Peace and Security.” The sub themes were:
Hijab is a covering of the body for Muslim Women and Girls in Islam. Wearing of hijab is an injunction of Allah, aimed at protecting the vulnerability of Women in the society.
Islam without gainsaying is both a religion and a way of life. The hijab is a form of dressing that manifests and professes the practice of Islam. FOMWAN is worried by the incessant denials of Muslim Women and Girls from wearing the hijab in some parts of the country.
